Tummy time for Lydia

Lydia enjoyed a little tummy time today ! She liked it.

She's always doing something funny with her arms! So cute : )

She is 5 weeks tomorrow, her due date. We are so glad she's here with us instead of in my womb. We enjoyed a quiet evening on our 2nd anniversary, with carrot cake, reflecting on our 2 great years together!

4 weeks and a perfect heart !!

Lydia is 4 weeks and doing great ! We took her to see a cardiologist yesterday to check her heart. Our pediatrician thought he heard a heart murmur. She checked out great and we are praising God for the good report. Her health is perfect!
We also discovered the she is up to 7 lbs, which her clothes are starting to show! This little dress ( below) was huge on her the 1st week. She is starting to sleep longer stints at night, which we are thankful for.

Fun with the grandparents

Lydia has really grown this week! She is now fitting in her new born clothes. Isn't she cute :)

Mom has been a huge help and encouragement to us. She even took both late night feedings one night, so we were able to sleep thru the night. We are sure going to miss Grammy!

Thomas took both grandpa's to the Marine Corp museum for the day. Dad enjoying his trip down memory lane! He saw the helicopter he flew in in the 70's.

Lydia is ready for the Redskins to kick butt this season! She and Grandma already have that in common! Okay.... she Mommy needed a new team! I miss the Seahawks, but they NEVER show them on TV here. The Hawks will always be #1 though.

3 weeks and growing!

Thomas loves to watch his daughter sleep. He isn't so fond of her "yacking", which is kind of an issue since she struggles with reflux. We are working to figure out which formula works best for her little tummy, when to elevate her and if the gas medicine is really working : ) It's the only time she cries... when her tummy hurts.

This little girl is the funniest thing ever! She is sleeping with her arm in the air :) She has decided that swaddling is not for her... she is much too hot, just like her Mommy! So she sleeps in a sleep sack at 3 weeks. She looks mostly like Thomas, but her antics are just like me. She is the loudest sleeper ever and we have decided Mom wins an award for sharing a room with her for 2 weeks.

Lydia is a joy and we are so thankful for her strength and good health.

2 Weeks old

It's been quite the 2 weeks! We can't believe the whirl wind of events since the day my water broke! My mom insisted Thomas and I get out for a few hrs. this afternoon, for a date. We went to see GI Joe's which we enjoyed, then spent time talking about how strange it feels that things have moved so quickly and we feel like we haven't had time to soak it in. I would still have 3 weeks to go if things had gone as expected.
All is good and we are thankful though. Lydia is now up to 5.6 ozs and growing well. We look forward to the next checkup to see the changes.

She is more alert and her awake time has greatly increased over the last couple of days!

She is so funny with her fingers : ) They are long and thin, like her Grandma Pat. She slept with her finger in her ear for quite a while LOL!!
